These are fascinating times. We live in an abundant society, yet inequality has never been so pervasive. We are more interconnected than ever, yet we may feel disconnected from ourselves. We are nature, yet we think it lies outside from us. We are told new technologies are simplifying our lives, yet we feel more doubtful than ever. We have never lived that long, yet we all experience stress, pain and disease. We are more valued for having rather than being. We live in a paradoxical world, in a sort of interregnum where the old is dying and the new is not just born. We need to rethink ourselves, our organizations and our world. We need inspiration. We need vision and leadership. We need courage to see beauty in life. Humanity’s next frontier is to share prosperity not leaving anyone behind. In a more human and sustainable planet. A world of passion, meaning and harmony awaits. The future is an idea of the past. We can shape it.

                              

My life and work is a journey of change and transformation. I’m a self-made man. For the last twenty years I crafted a career in business and international development all over the world. I worked in more than forty countries implementing projects for the European Commission and the United Nations. I helped companies and organizations innovate and develop business in Asia. I was awarded a PhD Cum Laude by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. I founded and managed the Catalonia Trade & Investment Center in South Korea. I set up my business. I lived in Seoul, Brussels, Jogjakarta, Dodoma and Barcelona.

 

But it was the practice of Zen and the study of Chinese metaphysics during my years in Asia that allowed me to connect with my true self and discover my purpose. I found meaning. And that was life changing. I chose the middle way and I decided to unite both worlds in one: aligning personal with professional development for unleashing the power of business and organizations in building a more sustainable and happier world. And I started the re-evolution. I created the Zen Business, a new holistic model that helps organizations generate and maximize shared value for all stakeholders, create harmony, and thus make a difference. I created and founded the master in Sustainable Business & Innovation at EADA Business School, a unique and pioneering program to help changemakers all over the word leading the way towards the new management paradigm. I created the Wise Cities program, a comprehensive conceptual framework to guide cities in fostering creative economies through inclusive growth and pre-distributive policies.

 

I am privileged to serve as professor at EADA Business School, as senior research associate at CIDOB Barcelona Centre for International Affairs and the Maastricht School of Management. I consult for the European Commission, the United Nations, business associations, corporations and non-profits. I coach and mentor entrepreneurs and future leaders. As a writer and communicator I feel inspired to share my experience and knowledge with human beings that are looking to align their passion with their dream business, job and life for a brighter future. This is my calling and my service to life and the universe.
